What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Label Brand Manager (Associate Level) position at Federated Group?
For 95 years, we’ve been building brands that win in retail. We’re looking for a Private Label Brand Manager to own and grow a portfolio of private label brands.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role for someone early in their career who wants real ownership. You’ll be expected to think strategically, execute quickly, and operate across multiple stakeholders in a fast-moving environment.
What You’ll Own
Brand & Business Growth
- Own the day-to-day management and growth of assigned private label brands and categories
- Identify opportunities to increase sales, improve margins, and expand product offerings
- Partner with Account Executives to translate strategy into customer-ready programs
Product Development (End-to-End)
- Drive product development from concept through launch
- Work with customers, suppliers, and sourcing to bring new products to market
- Ensure products meet cost, quality, and timeline expectations
Supplier & Sourcing
- Act as a key link between suppliers, Strategic Sourcing, and internal teams
- Support supplier selection, margin optimization, and ongoing product improvement
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop new programs aligned to customer needs
Data-Driven Decision Making
- Use sales and syndicated data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities
- Analyze item and category performance to inform product and assortment decisions
- Partner with sales to turn insights into actionable plans
Brand Execution & Packaging
- Ensure brand consistency and strong shelf presence across products
Cross-Functional Execution
- Coordinate across sales, sourcing, design, and supply chain to move projects forward
- Manage multiple timelines simultaneously and ensure on-time execution
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
Support & Industry Engagement
- Support selling shows, trade events, and customer presentations
- Work with suppliers and sales teams to maximize participation and impact
What Success Looks Like
- A consistent pipeline of new products launched on time
- Measurable growth in sales and margin across assigned brands
- Strong coordination across sales, sourcing, and suppliers
- Increasing ownership and independence over time
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in brand management, product development, or a related role
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with sales or syndicated data
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communicator who can work across teams and with external partners
- Self-starter mindset with a willingness to take ownership and figure things out
