SKILLED MAINTENANCE - GROUNDS
Position Summary
This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair and upgrade of all District grounds, fields and outdoor facilities and equipment.

Education and Experience
Three (3) years of experience working in the commercial grounds, landscaping or a related field
Additional Qualifications
Must currently hold or be able to obtain a State of Washington Department of Agriculture Pesticide Application Certificate
Must have a basic understanding of computer, phone, and e-mail skills
Excellent safety record
History of positive evaluations and good recommendations
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
Criminal background clearance
Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License
Work scheduled hours on a consistent basis and follow District procedures for reporting all absences
Knowledge Of
Field preparation and game regulations
Irrigation systems and installation
Operations and maintenance of mechanical equipment used in maintaining grounds
Safety regulations for equipment use

Required to work outdoors in what may at times be extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, wet, windy, dirty, and snowy or frozen conditions. The position requires operating dangerous mechanical systems and/or machines, exposure to noise, hazardous chemicals, and high voltage.

- Mow, trim, and edge lawn and turf areas.
- Maintain and prepare athletic fields including game preparation.
- Weed and clean planting areas.
- Renovate, repair, and upgrade turf areas for both sports and ornamental turf applications.
- Maintain and install irrigation.
- Install and repair fences and signs.
- Inspect, repair, and install playground and athletic equipment.
- Remove snow both by shovel and plow.
- Select, mix, and safely apply pesticides and herbicides.
- Load, unload, and safely transport equipment on trucks and trailers.
- Operate all types of grounds equipment.
- Work safely around children and adults; know and follow safety and health regulations and related District guidelines.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize the use of time and resources in an efficient and effective manner
- Order, organize, and maintain required parts and supply inventories
- Consult and negotiate with building administrators and staff to accomplish maintenance needs of the facility.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
