About the Opportunity
The System Payroll department has an immediate opening for a Technical Analyst to support our payroll team. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical requirements and drive the successful delivery of payroll solutions. Success in this position requires a strong understanding of Workday Payroll, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure solutions align with organizational needs.
What You Will Do:
Business & Technology Partnership
- Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and deliver effective payroll solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements and strategic priorities.
- Define business problems, document clear requirements, and ensure alignment with technology teams on expected outcomes.
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, maintaining a deep understanding of business objectives and ensuring that solutions meet their needs.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Lead the user acceptance testing (UAT) process, including developing test scenarios, documenting results, and communicating outcomes to ensure changes meet business requirements before deployment.
Process Improvement & Optimization
- Regularly review payroll business processes and procedures, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Stay current on system functionality and new feature releases, proactively applying relevant capabilities to optimize payroll processes.
- Review and evaluate Workday release features related to payroll, including weekly service releases and semi-annual feature releases, assessing potential impacts and opportunities.
Analysis & Problem Resolution
- Analyze incident data to identify trends and impacts, providing recommendations for resolution and conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
- Monitor system performance and payroll outcomes to proactively identify risks or areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
- 4 years of experience in payroll technology
- Strong working knowledge of Workday payroll required
- Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Proven experience documenting business requirements
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise between technical and non-technical stakeholders, build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Experience leading UAT processes, including test planning and execution
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- A proactive, continuous-improvement mindset with a passion for optimizing processes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
- Familiarity with internal control standards (SOX)

- The hiring range of the Payroll Technical Analyst is $94,300 - $129,690 annually.
