Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to support aerospace and defense programs involving a wide variety of components, materials, and assemblies. The ideal candidate has experience interpreting engineering drawings (including legacy drawings), applying GD&T, and inspecting diverse product types using standard inspection tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and inspect parts to engineering drawings, including legacy/older drawings (e.g., older Boeing drawings)
- Use GD&T to verify conformance to specifications
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections
- Inspect a wide range of materials and product types, including:
> Steel tubing (e.g., motor exhaust components)
> Machined parts
> Sheet metal
> Composite components
> Castings
> Plastics and rubber components
- Utilize inspection equipment including:
> Micrometers
> Calipers
> Height gages
> Surface plate inspection
> Surface finish inspection
> Bore gages
> CMM inspection
- Document inspection results and nonconformances
- Maintain inspection records and reports using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Work with engineering, quality, and assembly/test teams to resolve quality issues
- Follow company quality procedures and applicable aerospace/defense standards
Required Qualifications
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, including legacy drawings
- Experience using GD&T to verify conformance to specifications
- Experience inspecting multiple material types (metallic and non-metallic)
- Proficiency with standard inspection tools
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace and/or defense industry experience
- Experience with mixed-material assemblies
- CMM inspection experience (manual or programmed)
- Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality systems
- Familiarity with ITAR requirements
Preferred Skills
- Regulatory Compliance (ITAR, EAR, CUI): Working knowledge of compliance requirements.
- Systems & Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (Pentagon 2000 SQL or similar preferred)
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical training or equivalent quality inspection experience preferred
Additional Information
This position may require access to ITAR-controlled data. Candidates must be eligible to comply with ITAR regulations.
