What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Solutions Architect position at Federal Express Corporation?
Serves as a solutions expert at the business unit level developing the end-to-end solution architecture for highly complex and significant initiatives in partnership with key business and IT stakeholders. Exposes current state architecture and identifies options for future state architecture. Works closely with business and IT stakeholders creating solutions that balance competing interests and concerns. Develops plans for and facilitates the migration from current to selected future state by providing technical leadership to multiple initiatives. Mentors those in less senior positions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent* in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years work experience in information technology or engineering environment. The employer will alternatively accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years work experience in information technology or engineering environment in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 5 years of experience. The position requires experience with: Architecture or designing technical solutions to address specific business problems; developing architectural or technical solutions that meet performance, scalability, reliability and security needs; industry-standard architectural frameworks such as the Business Architecture Guild (BIZBOK), The Open Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or equivalent work experience in developing Architectural designs and specifications to meet business and customer needs; validating the feasibility and sustainability of solution architecture by ensuring alignment with industry standard best practices and design standards such as Microservices Architecture, RESTful API design, Layered Architecture and Modular Design; defining the appropriate delivery approach for solution services, encompassing processes, methodologies, tooling and partnerships for agreement on service design and delivery such as Scaled Agile, DevOps or other IT Service Management approaches. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement. This position will be hybrid in Plano, TX and candidates must live within a 50-mile radius. This position is hybrid, meaning that employees will be required to work at a FedEx office location up to several times per week. *Employer will accept one (1) year of directly related experience in lieu of one (1) year of education. *
