What You'll Do
As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a key role in ensuring our fleet remains safe, compliant, and operational by:
- Diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical systems
- Performing preventative maintenance services including oil changes, brakes, filters, and fluid inspections
- Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using diagnostic software and scan tools
- Inspecting and repairing air brake systems, suspension components, steering systems, and driveline assemblies
- Conducting DOT inspections and ensuring equipment meets safety and compliance standards
- Completing trailer repairs including doors, floors, lighting, and landing gear
- Responding to breakdowns and roadside service calls as needed
- Maintaining accurate service records and work orders
- Managing parts inventory and assisting with ordering replacement components
- Following all OSHA, DOT, and company safety requirements
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience repairing diesel trucks, heavy-duty equipment, or commercial vehicles
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and fleet maintenance practices
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and diagnostic systems
- Understanding of air brake systems and suspension components
- Ability to safely lift up to 75 pounds
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on tractor-trailers and box truck fleets
- CDL for road testing equipment
- ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certifications (T-Series)
- Technical school or diesel technology training
- OEM certifications (Cummins, CAT, Detroit Diesel) are a plus
