Salary: Salary shown is the BASE SALARY for the grade level. Appropriate locality pay will be applied according to the location of the official duty station.

GS-12 $75,706.00- $98,422.00
Full Performance level: GS-14

Mission Statement:

Major Duties:
GS-11
- Create, customize, and maintain software installers using tools such as InstallShield or Orca.
- Ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure and security policies.
- Create software deployment packages using tools like BigFix, MECM, or Intune.
- Write and modify scripts (e.g., PowerShell, VBScript) to automate packaging tasks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve packaging-related issues.
GS-12, in addition to the above
- Collaborate with development teams to improve packaging processes.
- Test and validate software packages to ensure proper functionality.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) for packaged applications.
- Maintain documentation related to packaging standards and procedures.
- Provide third-tier level support for application-related incidents.

Specialized Experience (SE):
GS-11: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
- Experience with various application packaging methodologies including virtual vs non-virtual packaging and containerization
- Experience in installation, functionality, and compatibility testing to ensure packaged applications function and operate as intended on the targeted environments
- Experience in software deployment tools such as Bigfix, MECM, and Intune
- Experience in scripting languages (i.e. PowerShell, VBScript, Perl, Python)
- Experience in Windows operating systems, event logs, and registry settings
In addition to above:
GS-12: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
- Experience in packaging and deploying third party applications with tools such as BigFix, MECM, and Intune
- Experience in software packaging tools such as Flexara, Wix, InstallShield, and Orca
- Experience in software installation and troubleshooting skills including knowledge of various Microsoft Windows components and software dependencies
- Experience in drafting, engineering, and updating technical documentation including software versions, required software dependencies, and patch levels
- Experience and familiarity in cybersecurity best practices including hardening and securing software applications in accordance with FBI and DOJ regulations (Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), NIST SP 800-218, and Executive Order 14028)

- Bachelor’s degree in STEM area preferred (i.e. Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering).

Education
All degrees must be from an accredited college or university. Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
