Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Conduct inventory management activities such as stock counting, inventory control, and using RF scanners to track items accurately within the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Assist with order picking and packing using various tools like order pickers and OS400 systems to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Support shipping and receiving operations by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, preparing items for shipment, and maintaining accurate records.
- Perform stock stocking duties, organize warehouse distribution areas, and ensure materials are stored securely following OSHA safety standards.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining mechanical knowledge of warehouse equipment to prevent accidents or damage.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize warehouse distribution processes and improve overall efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a warehouse environment with familiarity in inventory management, order picking & packing, and shipping & receiving.
- Skilled in operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and other mechanical tools.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, AS400 or similar platforms for inventory tracking.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while adhering to OSHA safety guidelines.
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of packaging processes and materials handling techniques.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or construction environments is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory control and stock management.
