Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced estate planning and administration attorney to join our growing law firm!
In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal services related to estate planning and taxation matters. You will collaborate with clients, partners, and staff to provide effective legal representation, counsel, and advice. You will be accountable for all legal documents, correspondence, and communications related to estate planning and tax law.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze and evaluate client estate planning and taxation needs to develop effective legal strategies
- Draft wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, and other necessary estate planning documents
- Research and analyze tax law and regulations and advise clients on personal and business tax liability and tax consequences of proposed transactions
- Represent clients in probate court and provide guidance as to estate administration
- Provide legal advice to clients on estate and gift tax issues and asset protection strategies
- Collaborate with other legal professionals and support staff to ensure high-quality services to meet client needs
- Keep up-to-date with changes in estate planning and tax laws and regulations and maintain a high level of expertise in the field
Job Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the state bar association
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in estate planning and taxation law
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and support staff
- Experience in representing clients in probate court and their estate administration needs
- Portable billings helpful but not required
- Proficient in using legal research tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and have ability to learn effective use of other software programs
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to delivering high-quality legal services
- Job is in-person with some remote flexibility
