Position Summary:
Nationwide Uniform (by Fechheimer) in Hodgenville, KY, is seeking a reliable and team-oriented Bundle Handler to support our sewing operations and production in a fast-paced uniform manufacturing environment. The Bundle Handler supports sewing line productivity by accurately organizing, staging, and moving garment bundles and related supplies throughout the manufacturing area. This role is essential to maintaining workflow by ensuring operators have the correct components in the proper sequence, materials are delivered on time, and work carts are returned and positioned to keep production moving safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
In this role you will be required to…
Bundle Preparation & Sequencing
- Match garment fronts and backs to support side seam operations.
- Retrieve waistbands from the cut band section and place them into storage bins in the correct sequence.
- Match waistband bundles to leg panel bundles to maintain proper set integrity and workflow.
Material Movement & Line Support
- Return work carts from the trim line back to the side seam line to ensure continuous flow.
- Line up work for operators by staging bundles in the correct order and location.
Supplies & Workstation Readiness
- Stock sewing lines with required supplies such as thread, French flies, belt loops, buttons, labels, hook-and-eye sets, zipper sliders, and other needed items.
Safety, Quality & General Support
- Maintain an organized work area and handle materials in a manner that prevents damage or mix-ups.
- Perform other related duties as assigned in support of production needs.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to keep bundles organized and in correct sequence.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Dependable and team-oriented; able to coordinate handoffs and respond quickly to line needs.
- Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and adjust to changing production demands.
- Basic math and reading skills sufficient to follow bundle sequence and internal work instructions.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- This is a Union position governed by the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- Manufacturing/sewing environment experience is helpful, but this role is primarily focused on material movement, sequencing, and line support.
Physical Requirements:
- Positional: May be required to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time throughout the shift. Role requires repetitive reaching/handling while sorting, matching, and staging bundles. Lift 10 to 20 pounds periodically.
- Gross Mobility: Rare climbing, or crawling. Infrequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Will require ability to push/pull carts and lift/carry materials and supplies as needed (generally light to moderate loads; varies by production needs)
- Sensory: Visual acuity sufficient to identify bundle components, labels, and sequence requirements.
