The ideal candidate is willing to offer eduction to nurses and stay on top of regulations to ensure the facility is within compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Position Summary
The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing all nursing operations within the facility, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and fostering a culture of excellence in resident care. This role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and the ability to manage and mentor nursing staff effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nursing department, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (CMS, state, and local guidelines).
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain quality care standards.
- Monitor resident care plans and ensure individualized, person-centered care.
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and families to optimize resident outcomes.
- Oversee infection control, medication administration, and risk management programs.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets and staffing schedules.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and staff development programs.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of California (required).
- Minimum of 1–5 years of nursing leadership experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and clinical best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a positive team environment.
