What are the responsibilities and job description for the Music Teacher position at Feagin's Fretboard?

Feagin's Fretboard is a locally owned and operated music school located in the Southeast Tucson neighborhood of Civano. We are currently seeking part-time educators who specialize in teaching:
- Piano
- Voice
- Violin
Teachers at the Fretboard work with anywhere between 6 - 25 students a week, with most falling somewhere in the middle. New teachers typically enter on the low end - unless they are taking over for an exiting teacher - and build up. Most of our teachers also teach or work elsewhere.
Generally, our hours of operation range between 2:00 - 8:00 on weekdays and 10:00 - 3:00 on weekends. We work with teachers to build a schedule that fits their availability and preferences. We have students of all ages and proficiencies, with the majority being beginners and children. Positions are contract roles and candidates must have current clearances (Level 1 Fingerprint Card).
Required Qualifications:
- Passion for music and teaching
- Reliability (must have reliable transportation and be able to commit to a regular weekly schedule)
- The ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment, assess student progress, and provide constructive feedback
- Ability to provide individual instruction to students of different skill levels
- Ability to work with children
- Proficiency in music theory and reading sheet music
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of one's instrument(s)
- Level 1 Fingerprint Card
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificate, associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or doctorate in Music Theory, Music Performance, Audio Engineering or other related fields
- Previous teaching experience (preferably within Fine Arts education)
- Performance experience
