About the Role:

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) plays a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders across diverse age groups. This position involves developing personalized therapy plans that address each client's unique needs, promoting effective communication and improved quality of life. The SLP collaborates closely with families, educators, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care and support. Through evidence-based practices and ongoing evaluation, the SLP monitors progress and adjusts interventions to maximize therapeutic outcomes. Ultimately, this role contributes to empowering clients to overcome communication challenges and achieve greater independence in their daily lives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the United States.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Strong knowledge of speech, language, and swallowing disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with pediatric and adult populations across diverse clinical settings.
  • Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and technologies.
  • Bilingual abilities or experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
  • Training or certification in specialized areas such as fluency disorders, voice therapy, or neurogenic communication disorders.
  • Experience with telepractice and remote therapy delivery platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and client goals.
  • Provide direct therapy services to clients in various settings, including schools, clinics, and healthcare facilities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators, physicians, and caregivers, to coordinate care and support.
  • Document client progress, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Educate clients and families about communication disorders and strategies to support improvement outside of therapy sessions.
  • Stay current with advances in speech-language pathology through continuing education and professional development.

The required skills enable the Speech Language Pathologist to accurately assess and diagnose communication disorders, ensuring that treatment plans are tailored to each client’s specific needs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills facilitate effective collaboration with clients, families, and healthcare teams, fostering a supportive therapeutic environment. Clinical expertise and knowledge of evidence-based practices guide the delivery of high-quality interventions that promote measurable progress. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with AAC devices and bilingual capabilities, enhance the ability to serve a broader and more diverse client base. Additionally, proficiency with telepractice technologies allows the SLP to extend services beyond traditional settings, increasing accessibility and continuity of care.
