The Opportunity
FCE Benefit Administrators is looking for a meticulous Senior Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable to oversee our full-cycle Accounts Payable function. You will be the guardian of our payment processes, ensuring that vendor obligations are met with precision and that internal controls remain ironclad. This is a vital role for someone who thrives in a high-volume, multi-entity environment and prides themselves on financial integrity.
What You’ll Do
- Full-Cycle Ownership: Manage the end-to-end AP process, from accurate general ledger coding and approvals to ensuring two-way matching for all receipts.
- Payment Execution: Lead weekly payment runs (ACH, Wire, Check), ensuring every transaction is authorized and processed in strict accordance with company policy.
- Vendor Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, manage the vendor master file (W-9s), and spearhead the annual 1099 reporting process.
- Expense Integrity: Reconcile corporate credit cards and employee expense reports, ensuring total compliance with internal spending policies.
- Audit & Close Excellence: Support month-end close through AP reconciliations and accruals, maintaining the audit-ready documentation that keeps our operations running smoothly.
What You Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of AP or general accounting experience. Experience in high-volume or multi-entity environments is a major plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Sage Intacct or QuickBooks, with the Excel skills necessary to manage complex reconciliations.
- Core Competencies: A deep understanding of internal controls, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines without breaking a sweat.
