Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager

BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

Under the direct supervision of the Quality Control Senior Manager, the position will manage the Quality Control (QC) Department. The candidate must be able to learn the manufacturing and quality systems for FCC (North Carolina), LLC (FCCNC). The position will be responsible for controlling and supervision of QC activities to include task management for QC department, negotiations with customers and suppliers, communication with other department leads, confirmation of QC documentation, personnel management, lab safety, and budget development / management.

FCCNC is a diverse and multi-cultural company. The candidate must be self-motivated and must be able to work with all levels of the organization to secure Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. The position will work with Production and Engineering department and help identify and implement process improvement ideas. The candidate must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Some business travel is required.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee and supervise all QC activity (including new model and mass production).
• Manage planned quality activities in accordance with the annual business plan.
• Communicate and coordinate quality activities with other department leads.
• Communicate / negotiate with customers and suppliers regarding quality concerns and requirements.
• Initiate responses to customers pertaining to defects shipped to customer (Actions include determining sorting requirements, analyzing root cause and support developing corrective action).
• Monitor supplier quality performance and issuance of related trouble reports.
• Manage / control change points, QC personnel, quality documentation, lab safety, and QC budget.
• Oversee ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality management systems.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent. (Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred)
• Computer skills (Microsoft Excel, MiniTab, ERP Systems)
• Interpersonal skills / communication skills.
• Automotive or manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of IATF 16494 or ISO 9001
