Position Overview:
The Title Clerk plays a critical role in managing vehicle title documentation for auto loans. This position ensures timely and accurate processing of titles and lien filings, supporting compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to delivering outstanding service.
Reports to: Collections Manager
Job Type: Full-time | Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift | Hours: 40 per week
Pay Range: $22.00–$24.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
Title Processing & Documentation
- Review, verify, and process vehicle titles for new and existing auto loans in compliance with all state and federal regulations
- Collect, organize, and maintain all required documentation, including title documents, lien filings, and loan agreements.
- Research and resolve missing or incorrect title paperwork promptly.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure that all titles and lien filings are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Maintain organized records of all title transactions for audit and compliance purposes.
- Prepare and maintain reports on title processing metrics and any outstanding issues or exceptions.
Customer Service & Communication
- Address and resolve inquiries related to auto loan titles.
- Communicate with customers via email and phone to handle title issues.
- Build relationships and develop a professional rapport with DMV offices and sellers.
Team Support
- Provide guidance and training to other team members on title processing procedures as needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2–3 years in title processing or a related field, preferably in banking or finance.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with loan processing software is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues using critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with auto loan processes, title regulations, and compliance requirements, including ECOA, TILA, and FCRA.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow instructions accurately.
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
