Job Purpose
The Supportive Housing Worker is responsible for assuring a safe environment at the facility during the evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrates ability through prior work experience to be competent in the position
Core Job Duties
- Monitor all individuals who enter the facility and ensure that they sign in and out.
- Monitor facility cameras, fire alarms, etc. to ensure all are working properly.
- Be fully trained to respond to crisis and emergency situations.
- Participate in staff meetings to discuss concerns regarding programs and person(s) served.
- Serve as an appropriate role model for person(s) served.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of diagnostic criteria sets for substance use and/or mental disorders.
- Supervise residential property to ensure person(s) served are following house rules.
- Orient new arrivals to activities, introducing them to other participants, explaining facility rules and encouraging participation.
- Provide feedback to the Treatment Team, via notes and/or staffing.
- Document and report concerns and infractions.
- Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
- Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
- Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
- Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
- Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
