What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic Assistant position at FCC Behavioral Health?
Job Purpose
Assist with performing routine maintenance/repairs and coordinating extraordinary maintenance/repairs on all FCCBH fleet vehicles
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Two years related experience preferred
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Computer skills required, primarily Microsoft office applications
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Must have basic hand tools
- Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on time of year
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders
Core Job Duties
- Assist in the following duties as appropriate.
- Schedule and perform vehicle maintenance requirements in a timely manner.
- Report all abnormal vehicle conditions to the Fleet Manager.
- Ensure the garage is maintained for safety and to a high housekeeping standard.
- Maintain spare parts inventory to ensure efficient garage operation.
- Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance records. Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
- Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
- Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
- Abide by program and agency policies and procedures
- Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
