Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Crate Builder to join our dynamic construction and restoration team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, assembling, and customizing crates to securely transport a variety of materials and equipment. Your expertise in woodworking, carpentry, and construction will ensure that each crate is built to precise specifications, providing safe and reliable packaging solutions. Duties

• Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine crate specifications and dimensions
• Measure, cut, assemble, and fasten wood or metal components using hand tools (such as saws, hammers, chisels) and power tools (including drills, saws, sanders) for woodworking and framing
• Construct custom crates tailored to specific project needs while ensuring durability and safety standards are met
• Handle heavy lifting safely when transporting raw materials or completed crates on-site or within workshop areas
• Install fixtures or additional features such as rebar reinforcements or mold remediation components as required by project specifications
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace by adhering to power tool safety protocols and proper storage of materials
• Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of crate fabrication aligned with project schedules

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, carpentry, or woodworking within residential or restoration industries
• Strong knowledge of wood construction materials, including siding, drywall, caulking, trim carpentry, and metal stud framing
• Skilled in using hand tools and power tools for woodworking tasks with a focus on safety standards for power tool operation
• Familiarity with construction plans and interpreting technical drawings accurately
• Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and safety procedures
• Background in remodeling projects or the restoration industry is highly desirable
• Ability to perform precise assembly tasks such as cabinet installation or fixture mounting while maintaining quality standards
