Job Description: Lead Video Technician
Reports to: Chief Operations Officer
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and versatile individual to join our team as a Lead Video Technician. This position is responsible for the preparation, operation, deployment, and maintenance of video systems for live events, installations, broadcasts, and corporate productions supported by FC Production. This role combines strong technical proficiency with leadership and supervisory responsibilities, ensuring that video systems are deployed efficiently, safely, and to the standards expected by FCP clients.
The Lead Video Technician will oversee video crews in the field, assist with warehouse preparation and organization, and work collaboratively with project managers, audio, lighting, and operations teams to execute successful productions. This position requires both technical expertise and the ability to lead calmly and professionally in high-pressure live event environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning and execution of technical aspects for events, ensuring excellent quality and reliability of video services.
- Lead, manage, and supervise crew members, promoting a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Maintain FC Production's contractual obligations to clients and employees, ensuring high standards of professionalism and service.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide expert solutions to guarantee the smooth operation of events.
- Operate, maintain, and supervise a variety of video systems.
- Work within required timelines for when maintenance and updates should be executed to align within events calendar dates.
Qualifications:
- 4–7 years of professional live event or broadcast video experience.
- In-depth knowledge of video, networking, and other technology and equipment.
- Additional knowledge of audio and lighting equipment is welcomed.
- Leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Willingness to communicate directly with clients both ahead of time via email and while on-site and relay details to FCP Leadership.
- Proficient in Google Workspace, including Google Docs, Sheets, and Gmail.

Work Expectations:
- Standard work week is generally Monday–Friday during business hours, however event schedules and production demands take priority.
- Evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday work may be required.
- Travel may be required for select productions and installations.
- Must maintain professional appearance and demeanor while representing FC Production.

Compensation
Compensation for the Lead Video Technician position is governed by the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between FC Production and IATSE Local 22. This position includes two separate compensation structures based on the nature of the work being performed:
- On-Site Hourly Rate: Applicable when performing work at event venues, client locations, show sites, installations, broadcasts, or other field production environments.
- Shop/Warehouse Hourly Rate: Applicable when performing work within FC Production facilities, including warehouse operations, equipment preparation, maintenance, organization, testing, and related shop duties.
Applicable wage rates, overtime provisions, work rules, premium time, and scheduling conditions shall be administered in accordance with the governing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
In addition to hourly compensation, FC Production shall make all required employer contributions to applicable multi-employer benefit funds as required under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, including:
- Welfare/Health Benefit Funds
- Pension Funds
- Annuity or Retirement Savings Funds
Employees in this role may also be eligible for additional company-directed compensation, per diem, travel reimbursements, or other negotiated premiums depending on project requirements and applicable agreements.
All compensation classifications and benefit contributions are subject to the terms, conditions, and jurisdictional requirements of the applicable union agreement.
