The Academy is committed to excellence in player development, academic achievement, and personal growth, offering a comprehensive soccer pathway from grassroots to collegiate and professional levels. With a dedicated and licensed coaching staff, FC Copa Academy fosters technical skills, tactical understanding, and character development for players competing in premier leagues, showcases, and national championships. The Academy has placed over 450 student-athletes into 215 collegiate programs and continues to provide opportunities for growth through its pre-professional teams, including those in USL League Two and the USL W League.
Role Description
This is a full-time or part-time, on-site role based in Hillsborough, NJ, or Brooklyn, NY. for a Coach at FC Copa Academy. The Coach will be responsible for planning and conducting training sessions aligned with the Academy's curriculum to develop players' technical, tactical, and physical skills. They will ensure team preparedness for matches, oversee individual player assessments, and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance. Additionally, the Coach will support players’ academic and mental development as part of fostering well-rounded individuals. Active collaboration with other coaching staff to align team goals and player progression is an essential part of this position. Attendance at games, tournaments, events, and meetings will also be required.
Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of soccer, including technical and tactical training, and the ability to design age-appropriate training sessions.
- Leadership, team management, and communication skills to effectively mentor and motivate players and collaborate with staff.
- Experience working with youth athletes, preferably within a structured, professional soccer development setting.
- Licenses or certifications in coaching soccer, such as USSF or equivalent experience, are highly desirable.
- Commitment to player education, development, and fostering both athletic and personal growth to create a positive impact on and off the field.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and travel for games, tournaments, and various events.
