Role Description

The coaching position is a part-time, on-site role based in Piscataway & Hillsborough, NJ, responsible for leading training sessions and matches for youth teams in alignment with FC Copa Academy’s curriculum and philosophy. Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering age-appropriate training, providing individual feedback to players, and supporting their technical, tactical, physical, and mental development. The Coach will manage game-day preparation and in-match coaching, collaborate with other staff on player evaluations and progression, and communicate regularly with parents and guardians in a professional and respectful manner. This role also involves maintaining a safe training environment, contributing to club events and programs, and supporting the Academy’s standards for academic and personal growth.

Qualifications

• Coaching expertise: Demonstrated experience coaching youth soccer, with the ability to plan and deliver structured, progressive sessions.
• Player development focus: Strong understanding of technical skill development, tactical principles, and age-appropriate training methodologies.
• Communication and leadership: Clear, positive communication skills with players and families, and the ability to model professionalism and sportsmanship.
• Teamwork and collaboration: Ability to work effectively with other coaches and staff, share best practices, and support a unified club philosophy.
• Organization and reliability: Strong time management, session planning, and record-keeping skills to meet training and competition demands.
• Qualifications and credentials: Relevant coaching licenses (e.g., USSF, USC or equivalent) and prior competitive playing or coaching experience; background in youth development or education is beneficial.
• Safety and compliance: Commitment to player welfare, including adherence to safeguarding policies and completion of required background checks.
