Job Title: First Team Sports Science Intern
Reports to: Head of Sports Science & Nutrition

Position Summary:
This internship provides the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience working in a professional soccer organization. The sports science internship position will assist staff supporting FCC and FCC2 players. This position will be based out of the Mercy Health Training Center in Milford, Ohio. The duration of the internship is from March 2026– December 2026. Flexible working days, on average 4 days a week, mainly working 9am-2pm/3pm. This is an hourly paid position & college credit is available if required.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist the Head of Sports Science and Nutrition with the collection, storage and analysis of player data and provide effective feedback to key stakeholders
- Apply data driven methodologies to evaluate athlete performance.
- Support the club-wide monitoring strategies by tracking individual player data and helping manage workloads to mitigate injury risk and optimize player health, well-being and readiness
- Utilize a variety of technologies to quantify internal and external training load and assess player responses to training
- Conduct in-house projects to evaluate the effectiveness of performance interventions

What You’ll Need:
- Enrolled in an Exercise Science undergraduate or higher program or just completed
- Experience maintaining databases and working with athlete monitoring systems
- Knowledge of sports science, strength and conditioning and data science principles
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and coding (Tableau, R, Python, SQL)
- Proficiency in common sports science technologies and software (GPS systems & VALD equipment)
