JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent receives introductory-level instruction and basic on-the-job training in the core functions and procedures associated with maintaining the FBI's Automotive Fleet. Through both they obtain education in the foundational concepts and processes associated with automotive assessment, maintenance, and repair. This includes instruction on the primary tools (both physical and digital) used on fleet vehicles and how they're utilized in routine taskings.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance
- Must have (or be able to obtain) a valid driver's license
- Some travel may be required
- Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises, shocks, burns, and stains.
- Frequently makes repairs and may assist other workers in making repairs while vehicles are overhead, and where parts worked on are often in hard-to-reach places.
- Required to stand, stoop, bend, stretch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time.
- Frequently lifts parts and equipment that weight up to 20 pounds and occasionally lifts and carries items that weigh 50 pounds or more.
- Exposure to vehicle fluids such as battery acid and hydraulic fluids that may cause burns or irritate the skin or be otherwise hazardous to health.
- Work is performed in areas with regular exposure to moderate risks and discomforts associated with maintenance facilities, such as strong odors or fumes from fuels, engine exhausts, chemicals used in the work process, working near operating machinery, moving vehicles, high noise levels, and a variety of electrical hazards.
- Often exposed to elements when working out of doors or in various climates.
- Appropriate safety precautions and wearing of special protective clothing is required.
- Assist with regular and routine vehicle assessments.
- Assist with scheduling and performing basic vehicle maintenance.
