Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to oversee food safety and quality systems within our meat production facility. This role is responsible for ensuring that all products meet regulatory, customer, and company standards, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP plans, GMPs, SSOPs, and other food safety programs.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Lead internal audits and coordinate third-party inspections and certifications (SQF, BRC, etc.).
- Manage product testing, shelf-life studies, and microbiological sampling.
- Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and implement corrective actions.
- Train and mentor QA staff and production teams on food safety protocols and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for traceability and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with operations, sanitation, and maintenance teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Microbiology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of QA experience in meat or food manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, GMP, and food safety systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in QA software, Microsoft Office, and data analysis tools.
Preferred Certifications
•HACCP Certified
- SQF Practitioner or BRC Certification
- PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual)
