Role Description The Police Officer is a full-time, on-site role located in Fayetteville, NC, responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, employees, and visitors. Day-to-day responsibilities include patrolling campus grounds and facilities, responding to calls for service, enforcing state laws and university regulations, and conducting preliminary criminal investigations. The Police Officer will document incidents, collect and preserve evidence, prepare detailed reports, and may testify in administrative or court proceedings. The role also involves providing community-oriented policing services, assisting during campus events, participating in safety education programs, and collaborating with other law enforcement agencies as needed.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Law Enforcement and Police operations, including community-oriented policing.
- Experience or training related to Criminal Investigations, including interviewing, report writing, and case documentation.
- Ability to properly collect, handle, and preserve Evidence in accordance with legal and departmental standards.
- Eligibility to serve as a sworn Police Officer, including meeting state certification requirements and successful completion of required background checks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and respectfully with a diverse campus community.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and to respond to emergencies in a timely manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary coursework or degree in criminal justice or related field preferred.
- Physical ability to perform essential duties, including foot patrols, responding to incidents, and safely operating law enforcement equipment.
