| Primary Purpose of the Organization: | Faculty support specialists are employed for one or two semesters of an academic year on a part-time basis. Faculty support specialists work with the assigned faculty on activities that support teaching, advising, grading, technical assistance, and similar activities to enhance student learning. In this role, individuals do not teach or have full responsibility for regular assigned courses. The position requires development of a professional plan in consultation with the supervisor, considering the needs of the faculty member, students, and the department. Perform duties which support the academic mission of the department. This may involve supervising computer labs or reference rooms, grading papers, advising students, tutoring, technical support, assisting in the production of instructional materials, Canvas support, and occasionally assisting in classroom assignments. The essential duties and responsibilities comprising the workload of the Faculty Support Specialist fall into three categories: Professional Practice, Scholarship and Scholarly Activity including but not limited to:

Appointment Types The duty year for Faculty Support Specialist shall normally consist of the regular academic year starting with Bronco Kickoff. Faculty Support Specialist will be expected to work regular schedules, with no less than two (2) consecutive days off per week, to meet the needs of the department and the faculty. |
