Role Description The Adjunct Faculty member will serve in a part-time, on-site teaching role located on Fort Bragg, NC. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and delivering course lectures, facilitating classroom discussions and instruction of materials aligned with departmental standards and learning outcomes established by the Army Software Factory. The role involves assessing student performance through assignments, examinations, and projects, providing timely and constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate grade and attendance records. Adjunct Faculty are expected to hold regular office hours, support student learning and advising needs, and adhere to university policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities may include participating in departmental meetings, contributing to curriculum development, and engaging in professional development activities as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated teaching ability in the relevant academic discipline, with experience in course planning, classroom instruction, and student assessment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage diverse learners and foster an inclusive, respectful classroom environment.
- Proficiency with instructional technologies and learning management systems, and the ability to integrate digital resources into teaching.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple courses, grading responsibilities, and student support effectively.
- Minimum of a master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited institution.
- Commitment to the mission of an HBCU and the ability to work effectively with a diverse student, staff, and faculty population.
- Prior military teaching experience or similar settings, is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Fort Bragg, NC, and comply with all institutional and site-specific policies and requirements.
