Legal Case & Matter Management
- Support attorneys with end‑to‑end case planning, development, and management across litigation, regulatory, and corporate matters
- Serve as a primary point of coordination among attorneys, internal business partners, courts, opposing counsel, and external professionals
- Track case deadlines, filings, and key milestones to ensure compliance with court rules and regulatory requirements
- Assist attorneys with trial and hearing preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness materials, deposition binders, and appendices
- Develop and maintain document management systems, spreadsheets, and retrieval tools to support efficient legal operations
- Assist with e‑discovery, records retention, and matter tracking using legal technology platforms
- Conduct thorough legal research using statutes, regulations, case law, administrative decisions, and secondary sources
- Analyze findings and prepare clear, concise written summaries and recommendations for attorneys and leadership
- Draft, review, and manage legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery responses, interrogatories, and correspondence
- File court documents and regulatory submissions in accordance with applicable rules, procedures, and deadlines
- Act as a liaison to ensure timely information sharing across departments, divisions, and external agencies
- Provide responsive, professional support to internal and external customers
- Strong working knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and legal research methods
- Experience using legal research and contract/matter management systems (e.g., Westlaw, Cobblestone, or similar platforms)
- Familiarity with municipal and utility‑related policies, regulations, and compliance requirements (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and related business software
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Pre‑Law, Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in legal research, data analysis, or a related legal support role
- Associate degree from an accredited college or technical institute in Paralegal Studies and six (6) years of progressively responsible paralegal or legal support experience
- High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of equivalent, relevant legal support experience
