What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2026/27 FHS Secondary Transition Paraprofessional position at Fayetteville High School?
Fayetteville High School is seeking applicants for a Secondary Transitions Paraprofessional. The paraprofessional will provide supports to students with disabilities in developing pre-employment, workplace, and independent living skills. Responsibilities include providing individualized support, coaching students in work-based learning settings, collaborating with school staff and community employers, and assisting students in developing skills necessary for successful transition to employment and life after high school. This position also transports students to and from off-campus work-based learning opportunities using a district-provided 14-passenger bus. A CDL is not required; however, the employee must meet all district requirements for student transportation and safely operate the vehicle. Applicants must have an associate/two-year degree, at least 60 college credit hours, or a passing score on the Paraprofessional Praxis examination. Experience working with students with disabilities, transition services, vocational programs, job coaching, or community-based instruction is preferred.
Pay Range 26 or 27 (Based on education level, this is NOT $26 or $27)
Step 6-12 (Based on experience)
7.5 hours/day
180 days for a full contracted year
