What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2026-2027 - FHS Assistant Cheer Coach and Teacher position at Fayetteville High School?
Fayetteville Public Schools is seeking a qualified and energetic Assistant Cheer Sponsor to support the development and success of the cheer program.
Responsibilities include:
Assist the Head Sponsor in all aspects of the cheer program.
Support planning and supervision of practices, performances, and competitions
Assist with choreography, game day execution, and competition preparation
Promote school spirit, sportsmanship, and positive representation of Fayetteville athletics
Supervise students at all times during practices, events, and travel
Help coordinate camps, clinics, and off-season development opportunities
Assist with equipment, uniforms, and inventory management
Maintain strong communication with students, parents, staff, and administration
Support academic expectations and student eligibility requirements
Ensure compliance with AAA rules, district policies, and athletic department procedures
Qualifications:
Previous cheer coaching or spirit experience preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
Must meet Fayetteville Public Schools employment requirements
CPR and AED certification required
Additional Expectations:
Demonstrate professionalism and integrity in all interactions
Serve as a positive role model for student participants
Teaching duties will be assigned.
