Job Summary
The Janitorial Associate position performs daily custodial work and is responsible for keeping the public areas within the facility clean and orderly.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
Wipe down tables and chairs.
Clean floors and entryways by sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming.
Clean windows, glass, and mirrors.
Spot clean carpets.
Inspect the assigned area to remove litter and debris, or to clean up spills immediately.
Operate janitorial machinery and equipment as needed.
Handle various cleaning solvents and chemicals.
Follow the supervisors specifications for preparing chemicals and using the equipment.
Report to the supervisor needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring additional service.
Must comply with all regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and State Health Department.
Other duties may be assigned, as needed, to successfully meet the needs of FAYETTE customers.
**Skills and Qualifications**
Must be 18 years
Able to work as a team player and ability to work independently.
Able to follow verbal and written communication skills.
Must have reliable transportation.
Customer/Client Focus.
Time Management Skills.
Detail-oriented.
**Position Type and Expected Hours of Work**
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. May be required to work some weekends.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and move continually during working hours. The employee frequently is required to walk; sit; stand; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to operate and use all necessary equipment. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions including seasonally hot or cold temperatures and in climate weather. Ability to work around equipment that generates noise, vibration, and heat.
**Education and Experience**
1 years janitorial experience, preferred.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience preferred but not required.
