Sanitation Worker - 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift

Job Summary

This position will use a variety of chemicals and sanitation equipment to clean and sanitize food processing equipment.

Essential Functions

• Remove all debris from machinery, floors, and contact points prior to cleaning.
• Pre-rinse machinery and contact surfaces.
• Foam scrub and rinse the entire processing room (i.e. walls, floors, food contact surfaces, equipment) prior to sanitizing.
• Make sure all electrical equipment is bagged prior to liquid use. Ensure aisle ways and raw material storage area are swept and trash cans dumped.
• Handle chemicals used in the process of cleaning and sanitation by following safety procedures.
• Maintain and proper use of equipment.
• Observe and follow GMPs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
• Complete all daily paperwork required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

• Must be 25 years
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Previous food plant sanitation experience a plus.
• Detail-oriented.
• Able to follow verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work as a team player and ability to work independently.
• Time management skills.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position and shift hours are as follows:

• 1st Shift – 4:00 am – 12:30 pm, Monday - Sunday
• 2nd Shift - 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm, Monday - Sunday
• 3rd Shift – 8:00 pm - 4:30 am, Monday - Sunday

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to operate and use all necessary equipment. Ability to work outside and inside in all weather conditions including seasonally hot or cold temperatures.

Education & Experience

• Prior food plant sanitation experience is preferred but not required.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience preferred but not required.
