Position Summary
The Site Manager is responsible for the daily leadership, execution, and performance of sanitation operations within an assigned customer facility. This role ensures Fayette delivers safe, effective, and efficient sanitation services that support the customer’s food safety requirements, production goals, and regulatory expectations. The Site Manager leads frontline supervisors and team members, drives accountability, manages labor and materials, and serves as the primary day-to-day operational contact for the customer at the plant level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all sanitation operations for an assigned facility, including staffing, execution, verification, and shift performance.
- Ensure sanitation procedures are completed to Fayette standards, customer expectations, and all food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Manage frontline supervisors, leads, and hourly team members to maintain accountability for attendance, performance, safety, and quality.
- Monitor labor hours, overtime, productivity, chemical usage, and supply consumption to meet site financial targets.
- Conduct routine inspections, pre-op reviews, corrective action follow-up, and documentation verification.
- Partner with and provide routine, documented communication with customer plant leadership, QA, and operations teams to address sanitation issues, schedule changes, and improvement opportunities.
- Investigate deficiencies, food safety concerns, injuries, and operational issues, and implement timely corrective actions.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and retention of site employees.
- Maintain accurate reporting for staffing, payroll inputs, safety incidents, quality events, and operational performance.
- Reinforce Fayette’s culture of safety, urgency, ownership, and service.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3 years of leadership experience in sanitation, food manufacturing, janitorial, or related industrial operations.
- Experience managing hourly labor in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong understanding of sanitation practices, food safety standards, GMPs, SSOPs, and plant safety expectations.
- Ability to lead teams across multiple shifts and respond to changing production demands.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with basic reporting systems, email, spreadsheets, and operational documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Food plant sanitation leadership experience.
- Experience working in USDA, FDA, or RTE environments.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred where applicable.
- Experience with labor planning, audits, and customer-facing operations.
