What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clerk Typist position at Fayette County Drug & Alcohol Commission, Inc.?
- Position is in a busy medical front office setting.
- Answer multi-line phone system, which involves directing incoming calls and completing initial screening using an electronic health record on callers requesting services.
- Responsible for registration of clients into the electronic health record system by: inputting client-identifying data and completing computerized financial liabilities with detailed insurance information.
- Schedule clients for appointments.
- Check clients in and out using electronic health record system, and take client payments.
- Responsible for verifying Medicaid/managed care coverage on clients by accessing the PA DPW Promise System.
- Complete Department of Human Services COMPASS application on clients who may qualify for medical assistance benefits
- Responsible for filing or scanning of documents into electronic health record as needed.
- Possess excellent customer service and phone skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Prefer 2 years in a busy office.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Must have experience with an electronic health record system.
- Must have excellent data entry skills.
- Must work one evening per week.
- Must be able to provide PA Criminal Record Check, FBI and Child Abuse Clearances and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
