What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Inspection Foreman - Water System position at Fayette Chamber of Commerce (GA)?
This is a full-time position with benefits. This position is responsible for managing the inspection of water infrastructure and provides project coordination and administrative oversight through plan review assistance, developer communication, and tracking of project status. This position will respond to after-hours emergencies on a rotating schedule.

- Manages, coordinated and develops work plans and schedules of field and infrastructure inspections and development projects to ensure compliance with approved plans, standards, and regulations.
- Supervises and participates in field inspection operations.
- Train, supervise and evaluate personnel; Participates in the selection of new employees; approves leave requests; counsels and disciplines employees.
- Assists in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures.
- Ensures compliance with the Water System’s Developmental Standards.
- Coordinates planned interruptions of water service for construction projects.
- Prepares operational activity reports.
- Monitors project submittals from developers and contractors to support timely reviews and project closeouts, including easement coordination through review, approval, recording, and filing.
- Prepares operational reports and communicates inspection status, findings, and project updates to management and stakeholders.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
- Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives in the department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience.
- Completion of approved Water Utility Inspector training.
- Completion of approved National Safety Council traffic control course as well as work zone course.
- Possession of an appropriate state-certified water distribution operator’s certification.
- Possession of valid Class B commercial driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia.
- Possession of ability to readily obtain GSWCC Level 1B Advanced Fundamentals certification - Red Card
