This role assists the Residential Manager in supervising staff, coordinating services, and ensuring safe, respectful, and person-centered supports that promote independence and quality of life for participants.The Assistant Manager may serve as the point of contact in the Manager’s absence and plays a key role in staff leadership, medication oversight, documentation, and implementation of individual and behavioral programs.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervision & OperationsSupport daily residential operations and assist with staff supervision and schedulingProvide on-the-floor orientation and training to residential staffEnsure compliance with agency policies, DDS regulations, and program standardsRemain on duty until relief staff is secured when necessaryParticipant Support & Program CoordinationImplement daily routines and individual support plansPromote participant advocacy, independence, and human and civil rightsProvide individual counseling for minor adjustment issues and escalate concerns as neededAssist with implementation of behavioral programs and restraint procedures per policyMedication Administration & Health OversightOversee accurate and timely medication administration in coordination with nursing staffMaintain medication records and order medications as neededEnsure compliance with medication administration regulationsDocumentation & CommunicationComplete daily communication, nursing, medication, and behavioral logsUtilize Therap for all program documentation and ensure staff compliance and trainingReport operational issues and recommend improvements to the Residential ManagerAttend required meetings, trainings, and agency eventsTransportation & Community EngagementEnsure transportation needs are met in accordance with policies and proceduresPromote positive public relations and participate in agency fundraising and special eventsMinimum QualificationsTwo (2) years of college in Human Services, Special Education, or a related field, or equivalent experienceMinimum two (2) years of experience in residential, health, education, rehabilitation, or human services preferredValid Connecticut Driver’s License (or Rideshare-approved state license); must be insurableAbility to obtain Medication Administration Certification and PMT within 6 months of hireCompletion of required Residential Trainings within designated timeframesStrong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skillsAbility to implement restraint procedures and administer CPR safelyPhysical & Work Environment RequirementsStand/walk 4–6 hours; sit/drive 1–3 hoursLift 20–50 poundsFrequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, and reachingRepetitive grasping, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling, and foot control operationVision requirements include close, distance, depth perception, and focus adjustmentWhy Join Us?Favarh offers a supportive, mission-driven work environment with competitive benefits, including:Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)Generous PTO and paid holidaysMedical insurance (Opt-In.
