About the Role:
Favarh is seeking a dedicated and skilled Day Program Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our Day Services Programs. In this role, you will manage program delivery, funding, staff, facilities, transportation, and equipment to ensure participants receive high-quality support that help them achieve their highest level of independence.
You will ensure compliance with DDS regulations, support program development, and provide strong leadership in the absence of the Director. This position requires excellent communication, organizational abilities, and a commitment to promoting inclusion, safety, and participant growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Management:
- Oversee daily operations of Day Services Programs, including funding, staff supervision, program delivery, and facility management.
- Ensure implementation and adherence to agency policies, procedures, and DDS regulations.
- Maintain compliance with training requirements, nursing delegations, medication administration, PMT, and regulatory standards.
- Ensure health, safety, and confidentiality of all participants.
- Manage staff scheduling, ratio guidelines, and operational practices.
Program Delivery & Clinical Support:
- Coordinate participant clinical supports in areas including DDS requirements, IPs, medical support, nursing delegations, medication administration, PT, OT, and Behavioral Services.
- Administer medications and supervise staff compliance with medication procedures.
- Provide direct supervision and participant support as assigned.
- Maintain a hazard-free, engaging, and stimulating program environment.
- Plan, schedule, and secure program activities including work, volunteer, community, and in-house activities.
Leadership & Communication:
- Provide leadership, support, and guidance to staff, participants, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills enhancing communication and teamwork.
- Assist with oversight of Department operations and serve as lead in the Director’s absence.
- Participate in hiring, orientation, and ensuring training compliance for staff, substitutes, and interns.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Ensure thorough completion of documentation (Therap, ADP, Relias, etc.).
- Coordinate transportation needs including scheduling, vehicle maintenance, driver training, and required documentation.
- Meet Quality Service Assurance standards including audits, training, and reporting.
- Support agency events, fundraising, and marketing initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with federal, state, and local systems and internal personnel.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred; experience may substitute for degree.
- Minimum five (5) years of applicable experience, including increasingly responsible supervisory and management duties in program planning, staff supervision, and operations.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and familiarity with DDS processes required.
- Eligible for Medication Administration Certification and completion of all Day Services training.
- Proficiency in Therap and general computer applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to implement restraint procedures and administer CPR without risk of injury.
- Valid CT driver’s license (safe driving record) with Rideshare approval; PSL may be required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and maintain excellent customer service.
- Sensitivity to diverse communication needs and commitment to excellent service delivery.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Stand/walk 4–6 hours; sit/drive 1–3 hours.
- Lift 20–50 pounds as needed.
- Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, and reaching.
- Use hands for repetitive grasping, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling; operate foot controls.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
