As a DSP, you will make a meaningful impact every day by supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will implement fun, creative, and personalized activities, helping participants reach their personal best at home, at work, and in the community. - Implement individualized, engaging activities tailored to each participant
- Support participants in reaching their personal goals and maximizing independence
- Provide guidance and encouragement in home and community settings
- Foster community inclusion and involvement
- Support individuals in their daily routines such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, transportation, recreation and personal hygiene
- Utilize your own talents, skills, hobbies, and interests—such as art, music, cooking, sports, or other personal passions—to enrich the lives of participants
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High School Diploma/GED
- One year of experience in Human Services (preferred)
- Active, clean, non-restricted Connecticut Driver’s License (minimum 3 years U.S. possession)
- Clean driving history
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to safely lift at least 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for periods at a time.
- Work occurs in home and community settings
- Requires physical activity including lifting, standing, and walking
