What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Office Associate position at Fava & Maria Eye Associates?
At Fava & Maria Eye Associates, customer service and patient care are our top priorities, and it all starts with the patients’ experience at the front desk. The front office associate will perform a wide range of duties to guide our patients through the registration process. The front office associate will work directly with patients to check them in and out, schedule upcoming appointments, and answer any questions they might have regarding their visit. An individual in this position should be detail oriented with strong customer service skills. Candidates with an affinity for patient care and interaction should apply, regardless of experience. Comprehensive on the job training will be provided.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Perform standard check-in and check-out procedures.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and consents.
- Prepare patient charts.
- Fax, scan, file, and mail documentation.
- Answer a multiple-line telephone system, assisting callers, and transferring calls to the appropriate parties.
- Verify patient insurance and eligibility.
- Collect patient copays and outstanding balances.
- Ensure that all necessary paperwork and documentation is in order prior to patient visits and/or surgeries.
- Assist surgical coordinators with daily tasks.
- Multitask and handle different patients’ needs.
- Track and document patient medical information, while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior customer service experience a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficient with technology and computers
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Schedule:
- Full-time, 40-hour work week
- Day shift: Monday through Friday
- No late nights
- No weekend hours
