Plant HSE Manager
Position Summary
The role of the HSE Manager is to guarantee, according to national legislation, the respect, and the enforcement of the Group's HSE policy. The HSE Manager will assume all duties of an HSE Coordinator in addition to managerial responsibilities of HSE department employees and Interns.
Responsibilities

  • Analyze the site risks and bring solutions to improve the working conditions; the level of industrial safety; and respect of the environment.
  • Propose an annual HSE action plan to the site management.
  • Coach and support the site management and employees.
  • Support engineering team with HSE portions of SOP.
  • Participate in Faurecia's HSE network and HSE reporting for the Faurecia group.
  • Monitor legal compliance and manage the site's relations with local government and regulatory organizations.
  • Monitor the reporting of HSE indicators (FR0t, environmental data, ...).
  • Organize and drive HSE audits and HSE training.
  • Carry out and investigate accident enquiries and lead preventative initiatives.
  • Investigate and Manage Worker’s Compensation Claims.
  • Represent company where needed in Worker’s Compensation Hearings.
  • Manage return to work and worker compensation program.
  • Ensure environmental testing and monitoring is completed.
  • Manage Core Team audits.
  • Conduct all safety and environmental training and communications.
  • Partner with plant and corporate program teams on new program launches.
  • Manage ergonomics program in conjunction with onsite medical team.
  • Coordinate the Hearing Conservation Program with HSE Manager by providing audiometric testing, with follow-up and referrals.
  • Provide annual educational training programs in hearing conservation, bloodborne pathogens, health effects of lead, drug, and alcohol effects, and, other.
  • Administer the safety eyewear and safety shoe program.
  • Prepare and maintain current legal and governmental medical and company reporting requirements and analyze data.
  • Manage and oversee plant security as required and/or needed.
  • Maintain employee administrative records according to standards of confidentiality as required by OSHA, professional ethics codes and individual state privacy acts.
  • Maintain current awareness of applicable federal, state, and local health, industrial hygiene, and safety regulations. Be prepared for OSHA inspections (i.e. record retention).
  • Maintain professional competency through participation in professional education and training programs and completion of any necessary requirements to maintain professional credentials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • On-call 24/7 for incident management.

  • Assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the company.

Position Specifications

  • STOP WORK to assess an unsafe act and/or unsafe condition that may be in violation of the 7 Safety Fundamentals and/or other safety and environmental policies at the site.
  • Determine emergency response for an individual’s safety condition (e.g. EMS call, sent home, local care, etc.) or environmental incident.
  • Ensure the Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements are established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with the current ISO 14001 standard.
  • Report on the performance of the Environmental Management System to top Management for review and as a basis for improvement to the EMS.

Knowledge / Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Willing to travel to other plants and headquarters office as needed
  • Knowledge of HSE tools and methods: FMEA, 5 why methodology, job instruction, audits, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, risk assessment, etc.
  • General knowledge of automotive production plant technologies
  • Proficient level of English
