Production Manager - Waupaca Sand & Solutions / SportZmix Division

We're looking for a driven, highly organized Production Manager for our Waupaca Sand & Solutions / SportZmix division who thrives on accountability, problem-solving, and getting results. This isn't a desk-only management role. We're looking for a hands-on leader who enjoys being in the field, building strong relationships, analyzing data, solving problems, and driving continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
As a Production Manager, you'll be responsible for developing and executing production plans that support inventory objectives, customer demand, and operational efficiency across partner sand & gravel pits and mobile blending projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop inventory and production plans using sales forecasts, production data, and operational needs.
- Lead and support a team of equipment operators to execute production plans safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate equipment mobilization between job sites and partner sand & gravel operations.
- Manage product recipes and specifications to ensure consistency and quality.
- Monitor material quality control, field gradations, and third-party testing results.
- Build strong working relationships with partner pit leadership through regular communication and site visits.
- Track production costs, material costs, and project performance.
- Compile, analyze, and present production and operational data.
- Establish a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure preventative maintenance programs are followed and equipment remains productive.
- Train, coach, and develop team members to perform at their highest level.
- Drive safety, quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance throughout all operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce downtime, and increase productivity.
- Assist with annual product costing and operational planning.
- Demonstrate and promote Freddie's Fundamentals in everything you do.
What We're Looking For
We're searching for someone who combines strong leadership skills with exceptional attention to detail and a relentless commitment to execution.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Operations, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, logistics, and project management.
- Excellent computer, analytical, and mathematical skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Proven experience leading teams and developing employees.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a true "consider it done" attitude.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working within collaborative, team-oriented operations.
- Aggregate, sand & gravel, mining, construction materials, or related industry experience is a plus.
- Ability and willingness to travel to partner sand & gravel locations as needed.
