What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Assistant/technician position at Faulkner Eye Clinic?
Experience preferred but will train the right candidate. Responsibilities include (but not limited to) greeting patients upon arrival and triaging, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance benefits/authorizations and discussing benefits with patients, pulling and filing paperwork, patient check in, pre-testing, frame styling, discussion of different lens options, verifying prescriptions, dispensing glasses, adjusting, and repairing frames, instructing proper contact lens insertion & removal, eyewear dispensing, visual field, & OCT testing. Good computer skills are a must.
As a small office, all of our employees are cross trained to assist in all positions, including pretesting patients, dispensing contact lenses and glasses, etc.
The ideal candidate must be positive & friendly with strong verbal & math skills that works cooperatively with other employees. Optical or medical office experience preferred. Pay is dependent upon prior relevant experience.
