Position Summary:
The Finishing/Deburr Technician is responsible for completing post-machining processes on precision-manufactured components. This role ensures all parts meet quality, appearance, and customer specifications by removing burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections while maintaining dimensional accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Perform deburring, polishing, sanding, tumbling, blending, and other finishing operations on machined components made from various metals and plastics.

Key Responsibilities
Perform deburring, polishing, sanding, tumbling, blending, and other finishing operations on machined components made from various metals and plastics.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards to determine finishing requirements.
- Inspect parts visually and with basic measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify conformance.
- Maintain surface finish requirements and protect critical features and tolerances during finishing work.
- Identify nonconforming parts and communicate issues to quality or supervisor.
- Handle, track, and record part quantities in accordance with shop workflow and documentation procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, tooling, and equipment.
- Follow all safety practices including PPE, proper tool handling, material handling, and CNC shop safety policies.
- Support continuous improvement activities to improve throughput, quality, and workplace organization (5S).
- Prior experience in metal finishing, deburring, or precision mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment (CNC machining preferred).
- Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints and work orders.
- Skilled with hand and power finishing tools, including: rotary tools, files, stones, and deburring blades.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Capability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer/data entry skills for production tracking.
- Familiarity with aerospace, medical device, or high-precision manufacturing standards.
- Experience with cosmetic finishing and surface treatments.
- Knowledge of GD&T and dimensional inspection methods.
- Lean/5S experience.
- Fast-paced production shop environment with exposure to machining noise, coolants, metal chips, and repetitive manual tasks.
- Team-oriented environment requiring communication and collaboration with machinists, inspectors, and supervisors.
