Responsibilities
- Collect urine, saliva, or other specimens from patients or individuals following established protocols and procedures
- Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of all specimens to maintain chain-of-custody standards
- Prepare and process specimens using appropriate techniques and aseptic methods to prevent contamination
- Maintain detailed documentation of collection procedures, specimen details, and any deviations or issues encountered during collection
- Follow strict safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Assist with laboratory management tasks such as inventory control and maintaining cleanliness of the collection area
- Communicate clearly with patients or individuals to explain procedures, answer questions, and provide reassurance during specimen collection
Requirements
