Role Description The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist role at Fastenal is a full-time, on-site position based in Indianapolis, IN. The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications and production schedules. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, selecting appropriate tooling, performing machine adjustments, and verifying dimensions using measuring instruments. Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in Machine Operation and Machinery handling, including setup, safe operation, and basic maintenance of CNC equipment.
- Strong Machining and Milling skills, with experience producing precision parts to tight tolerances and following detailed work instructions.
- Solid Quality Control capabilities, including familiarity with inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and ability to perform in-process and final inspections.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CNC programs; basic understanding of G-code is beneficial.
- Commitment to workplace safety, adherence to standard operating procedures, and awareness of OSHA or similar safety guidelines.
