Position Details - Asset Accountant Job ID 623503 Title Asset Accountant Type Full-time Location Winona, MN 55987 Departments Accounting/Finance Date Published April 22, 2026 End Date 05-06-2026 Job Description Asset Accountant 212 W 2nd St, Winona, MN 55987 HEADD Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 6:00pm OVERVIEW: Working as Full-time Asset Accountant, you will be a part of our Asset and Vendor Control team and will be focusing on a variety of accounting duties for Fastenal's world-wide locations. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Processing and coordinating fixed asset activities such as purchases, sales, transfers, and projects o Coordinating and performing asset administration activities including vehicle registrations, credit card maintenance, and gas card maintenance o Overseeing and processing vendor control activities such as vendor set-up, approvals, and tax information o Auditing various fleet and asset vendor invoices o Processing various asset management and project costing month-end close and reporting activities o Managing communications with other departments and external contacts related to credit card and fleet administration o Participating in the planning, testing, and implementation of development projects o Completing special projects, analysis, and other administrative tasks REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o Possess a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related education OR have two years of relevant work experience o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel o Highly motivated, self directed, and customer service oriented o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITION REQUIREMENTS: o Prior experience using PeopleSoft ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers. COMPENSATION: The base pay range for this position is $42,000 - 52,500. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
