ABOUT THE ROLE

The Mansueto Ventures Event Fellowship is a one-year internship designed to give recent college graduates or master’s degree recipients exposure to all aspects of events across both of the company’s editorial titles—Inc. and Fast Company. This role will report to the Director of Event Project Management and support the event team (MV Live) on upcoming in-person and virtual events for Inc. and Fast Company. This role will have exposure to all aspects of the event lifecycle.


This role will require weekly in-office presence on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Hourly rate: $23.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The year-long curriculum will enable the fellow to interact with all teams that touch events from video, social, and editorial to marketing and sales. In addition to daily interaction with internal teams, the fellow will have the opportunity to meet and learn from business leaders across both titles throughout the year, providing valuable insights into how each publication is structured. Administrative duties may include helping the MV Live team schedule meetings, and create and organize the team’s shared drive.

  • Provide pre-event and on-site logistical support at events, which may include check-in, vendor management, sponsorship fulfillment, and more; some travel will be required
  • Assist with preparing event materials for events including but not limited to collateral printing, packing, shipping, etc.
  • Attend site visits, vendor and internal meetings, and take notes as needed
  • Assist with in-kind outreach to enhance our event experiences
  • Update and maintain the competitive events calendar, preferred vendor list, and venue directory
  • Assist team members with creation of venue decks to provide to clients for event venue selection
  • Keep an organized inventory of MV Live storage spaces
  • Schedule meetings with vendors, internal teams, and venue contacts as needed
  • Participate in brainstorms on event innovations, sponsorship executions, and process improvement, etc.
  • Assist with event project management, including circulating deadlines and tracking deliverables in event timelines
  • Other special projects as needed and as opportunities arise


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • The ideal candidate will be available to work 35 hours per week with the ability to start as soon as possible
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other productivity tools, with aptitude to learn new software and systems
  • Flexible team player who is willing to do what it takes to get the job done; adaptable and enjoys a challenge
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced work environment
  • Previous event experience is a plus
