Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Upsell products and promote store promotions or special offers to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the sales floor is inviting and well-presented
- Maintaining a nice and clean environment that is welcoming
Requirements
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Basic math skills for handling transactions, giving correct change, and performing retail math calculations
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure accuracy at checkout
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous for potential growth opportunities within the team
- Need to have a vehicle and availability to work at our other store in Breaux Bridge if needed
