What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Kennel Staff position at Fast Friends?
Hiring for summer AND permanent positions!
Fast Friends is an international nonprofit finding homes for retired racing Greyhounds and dogs in need from around the world. We have 35–40 Greyhounds waiting for homes and run a busy doggy daycare and boarding business which helps support our mission of changing dogs' lives.
We are looking for active, dedicated dog-lovers to care for both our adoptable Greyhounds and our daycare and boarding guests. With each position, you will spend most of the day on your feet, with some time outdoors each day, completing tasks like:
- preparing and serving meals
- bringing dogs to and from relief yards
- picking up messes (pee and poop)
- cleaning kennels (sweep, mop, disinfect)
- doing laundry
- washing dishes
Staff working with the adoptable dogs takes them for walks and playtime, provides enrichment activities, and practices skills that will be needed in a home.
Staff working in doggy daycare and boarding supervises playgroups, moves dogs between areas, and interacts with customers to tell them about their dog's experiences.

Please note that since we are caring for live animals, Fast Friends requires near-perfect attendance. We do our best to accommodate time off requests, but call-outs are not tolerated.
Fast Friends is open 365 days a year—dogs need to be fed and walked even when it is snowing, so please consider your driving distance and the reliability of your transportation.
Each shift includes some weekend work. Each employee is also required to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas and will have the other off.
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
