Business Manager - FAST (Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training)

Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training (FAST) is seeking an innovative, forward thinking business professional for a state-of-the-art aquatic center with leading-edge technology which provides the Ocala community and beyond with programs and training opportunities that benefit every phase of life. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills with maximizing the sales and revenues of the FAST Fuel Cafe and Pro-Shop; promotes hospitality and oversight for Cafe, Proshop and Front Desk.

Essential Functions:

Manages the operational opening and closing procedures for Café and Pro Shop to include cash/credit card handling, inventory management and control activities, leads the development of marketing displays for trending products, and provides ensures stock levels and staffing are proportional to facility demands and events.

Performs reconciliation and financial transactions related to Café and Pro Shop to include preparation of cash and sales reports, develops and adheres to point of sale and cash register sales policy and procedures, monitors assigned budgets and payroll records, and reviews financial transactions in order to ensure adherence of projected revenues and expenditures.

Manages safe food and beverage handling/storage as per Health Department codes, performs daily inspections of facility, equipment, operations, sanitation and cleanliness for compliance with federal, state and local regulations as well as FAST policies and procedures.

Manages and recommends food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food in order to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner; schedules and receives food and beverage and Pro Shop retail deliveries, checking delivery contents in order to verify product quality and quantity.

Plans, assigns, delegates and manages work activities for assigned staff. Performs timely, fair and non-discriminatory evaluations of assigned staff. Responsible for cohesiveness, consistency, and effectiveness of assigned staff and recommends selection, promotion, discharge, and other

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

· Strong organizational skills to plan, prioritize, multi-task and independently execute projects/tasks within specific deadlines while maintaining flexibility.

· Strong written and oral communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to articulate complex information and issues clearly and concisely.

· Demonstrates working knowledge of point of sale revenue and expense budget techniques, pricing strategies, and yield management.

· Ability to provide strong leadership with the ability to plan, assign, delegate, and direct work of assigned staff.

· Strong professional demeanor, discretion, patience, and courtesy toward others.

· Demonstrates a strong customer orientation.

. Demonstrated working knowledge of the use of personal computers and related software applications to include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to articulate complex information and issues clearly and concisely.

· Strong interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to interact collaboratively and productively and to build effective relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds, including staff employees, public agency representatives and members of the general public. Ability to provide instruction in various subjects, including literacy, math, science, and social studies.

Schedule:

· Monday to Friday, during seasonal times in the year, will require working outside regular business hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications

HIgh School diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in entertainment, retail or hospitality is preferred. Two (2) years to (4) years of demonstrated experience in Food & Beverage or Retail management is required; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
